The Gambling Has Started

Well I've not lasted long after another decent day on Sunday, I decided to have a full trading session on Monday night it ended up being profitable but more through a bit of luck than anything else.

Sunday (Day Three) was a small profit thanks to Man Utd. At 1-0 to Fulham after 55minutes I backed Over 2.5 Goals and then topped it up with a lay of Fulham and 1-0 on 65 minutes all three bets coming in. I lost a portion of the profit trading a tennis match.

Monday (Day Four) I managed a small first half scalp on U1.5 goals in the 1st half of Derby V QPR and then scalped 1-0 during the HT period. Why I didn't just invest those profits on another goal coming I dont know, I had a bigger bet and ended up losing on the game. I then traded Celta V Ath Bilbao I thought Celta were overpriced at 3.5 and I guess to an extent I was right I only covered 1-1 and 1-2 on the CS though then added a lay of U1.5 at HT. Then I moved on to Tennis and managed to put 50% of my bank at risk but got pretty lucky and ended up losing £20 on one match and hedging out for £58 on the other for the first time in this challenge I had ended up gambling not trading fortunately I got away with it but need to learn quickly.

I also had a massive urge to try and play blackjack fortunately I resisted that urge.

I guess this blog is pretty boring for people as I don't really give any trading info so from now on I'm going to try and do a post at lunchtime each day previewing a couple of the trades I'm looking to make that day.

Solid Start

As seems to always be the case with a challenge you seem to hit the ground running. Day one on Friday saw me make just one trade on the Big Bash T20 Final, I couldn't believe the Perth Scorchers were 10/11 with a batting line up incliding the Marsh brothers Adam Voges, Simon Katich and Simmons who hit a ton in the semi final. They had a better record than Hobart in the group phase and home advantage to boot. With them batting 1st I backed them for a part stake and laid off for a free bet at the close of their innings.

Saturday saw me make two trades the first was Burnley v Milwall - Im a Burnley fan and was at the game, alot of traders say never trade on your own team but I find it easier as I know them inside out so think I have an edge over other traders here. I backed Burnley -1.5 and had a cover bet on 2-1 conditions were awful and the game was slow so I covered 1-0 and 1-1 luckily just before Milwall scored, Burnley responded straight away and bossed the game from that point.

The second trade was another winner on the Napoli v AC Milan game were I needed both teams to score essentially that was achieved within 11mins and it was just a case of covering danger scores from then on.

Im also a member of Tradeshark Tennis he gives trading advice and a tipping service it's worth every penny and since Friday theres been 3 tips and 3 winners.

Madness

Wow, I don't really know where to start!

My names Stewart and I've been gambling for aslong as I can remember sometimes I win and sometimes I lose, Ive been pretty successful playing poker winning a couple of 2,000 man tournaments. But in August 2013 I decided to give Sports Trading a go.

It started like a dream after an initial deposit into Betfair of £300 I had about £1200 by the end of October. I thought this is easy! Looking back it was beginners luck and from November 13 to Jan 14 I would lose not just the money I'd made but pretty.much everything.

I wanted to raise enough cash for me and my fiance to get a mortgage deposit so I increased my stakes before I knew it my bank was back down to £300 I haf losing day after losing day. I was gambling not trading!

In the end I ended up playing blackjack to try and quickly recoup my losses I won the first couple of times and something in my brain just totally shut down any rational thinking and I became practically addicted to Blackjack. I lost the money i'd won, I lost my initial trading bank, I lost all my disposable income for the month and then the greatest sin of all I went and gambled the money I needed to pay the bills. Luckily I had a way out and im in no debt and managed to pay my bills on time. I stopped gambling completely for my own sake and my fiances.

No doubt you think Im mad and I probably am for having another go at Trading but I know if you can handle the emotion and identify edges in the markets money can be made on the exchanges.

So ive self excluded everything on Betfair except the Exchange and I'm ready to hit the ground running tomorrow.
